When someone searches “dentist Tangier” or “restaurant near me”, Google shows a map with three businesses before any website. Being in that map is often worth more than a page-one website — and it is free.
1. Create the profile
Go to Google Business Profile with a Google account you will keep (ideally a company account), add your business name exactly as on your sign, choose your main category carefully (it matters more than anything else) and add secondary categories.
2. Address or service area
If clients visit you, show your address. If you travel to clients or work online, choose a service area and hide the address — Google allows this, and it is the right choice for agencies, plumbers or delivery businesses.
3. Verification
Google may ask for a short video showing your sign, premises or work tools, or for another method. Follow the instructions exactly; changing the name or address during verification often restarts the process.
4. Optimise
- Opening hours (including special hours for Ramadan and holidays).
- Real photos: front, inside, team, products — updated regularly.
- Services with short descriptions, in French and Arabic if your clients search in both.
- WhatsApp or phone number that someone actually answers.
5. Reviews
Reviews are the strongest local signal. Ask every happy client, send them the direct review link, and answer every review — even negative ones, politely. Never buy reviews: Google removes them and can suspend profiles.
6. Connect it to your website
Link the profile to a page that matches the search: a page per service and city works best. We build these pages for our clients — see our local SEO service or ask for a free audit of your visibility.
